The successful covering letter

Your CV should be accompanied by a covering letter , and these two items form a package.

Your prospective employer wants to know the following things –

  • What job you’re applying for
  • Why you want the job
  • Why you want to work for them
  • Why they should hire you
  • Your availability for interview and contact details

So, your letter of application  offers you the chance to sell yourself by pointing out key features of your CV and shows your prospective employer that you know how to write a letter.
